We will start by saying that we, The Good Bad and Ugly Entertainment, are
here. If you don't know us you will. Have you all realized that mostly
everyone is unhappy? We believe it's because of society. Society designed
this image in our minds of what constitutes happiness. We’re programmed to
believe that we have to go through certain steps to achieve happiness, but
let's face it -nothing is promised. We attend high school, possibly
graduate, attend college, accumulate all this debt, graduate, get a job
which we may or may not like, and then spend half of our lives paying off
debt (Not trying to speak ill of education because we are all for it). But
once we reach these goals, are we happy? Considering divorce rates are
over 50% even those lucky enough to get married, establish a family,
and pay off the debt, are more than likely still not truly happy.
The progressive nature of our culture nurtures us to believe money
establishes happiness. Actors, actresses, musicians, athletes, ect. are
portrayed as those who set the standard of true happiness. Realistically,
how good of an example are they when they are constantly caught as drug
addicts, cheaters, or having a bunch of illegitimate children? We see this
behavior everyday -WE SEE IT ON TELVISION!- yet we deem it ok because of
who and what they are but frown at the middle class person that does the
same. We are not trying to bash celebrity life styles but we are
questioning when did this become ok and entertaining to us and our
culture?
Our group took the time exploring this question on a 7 day road trip to
four different states. For example, we talked to a couple of women that we
felt displayed having some amount of morals and values. We noticed a man
who they referred to as "sexy" and asked them if the man approached them
and asked them to sleep with him would they? They answered morally that
they would not sleep with him because they either didn't know who he was,
what his personality was like, and would not participate in anything like
that. We then continued our conversation and when Lil Wayne's song 6ft 7ft
came on we asked them who their favorite artist was. They answered Lil
Wayne, Chris brown, Trey Songz. We then asked if given the opportunity
would they sleep with any of the artists they named. The responses were
significantly different. We received giggles, laughs, and even "HELL
YES". When asked them to account for difference in their response, they
told us about their talents, personality, "swag". We then started playing
with them saying what if these people were gay. These women immediately
became offended. Why? They don't know them. I'm pretty sure if I would
ask Chris Brown about anyone of them he would respond by saying "Who?"
This encounter suggested that when it comes to fame and fortune all our
moral judgments and values go out the window. But everyone’s guilty of
this- don't even ask us about Beyonce haha. Still, if society took the
time to realize how attention on fame and fortune blinds our judgment and
undermines our values then it would be a recognized problem. Does anyone
realize that we are essentially worshiping false idols?
We won't even get started on our views on sex before marriage - that’s a
joke all in it self. It has actually become a joke with in our culture.
When did we start becoming so dependent on the government? After all, we
make the government they don't make us. Without us they don't even exist
but without them we would still be here. We need to stop blaming the
government and the president for every little problem. We we never get a
phone call from Obama, to ask us how we are doing, and he is doing his job
just like everyone else. We as a people need to start taking personal
responsibility for ourselves and each other by helping each other come up
in the world. Our generation is capable.
During our excursion, we witnessed and learned so much about people. Then
came across a family, that was kind enough to house us. Probably one of
the most beautiful things we have ever experienced. The family was
composed of a single mother, two daughters, and a son who was the
youngest. The two older daughters, who are out of the house, and mother
worked the third shift of jobs similar to medical assistants. The widowed
mother, lives in a great two story house with her son. In this family
EVERYONE is involved -maintaining the house, cleaning, paying the bills-
everything they need to do to keep what is usually a symbol for a family,
which is a home. The oldest child saves money to send her brother to
football camp to nurture his goals of college and prepare him to be
recruited for football. We believe that a family like this, that works
together through all the bullshit, with a common goal constitutes as
happy. But in our opinion, they don't realize the beauty of what they
have. In their eyes they work their asses off, just to maintain. We view
their work and bond as a family as a blessing and motivation.
We believe that everyone can be happy if we work together and rather than
striving towards materialistic and monetary standard presented through the
media. We have to work on us, that’s what’s truly important because
together anything is possible. What we, GBU ent, are trying to do is
influence individuals to unite to reconstruct what we see and view as
entertainment , rediscover the roots of happiness, and redefine the
standard portrayed for future generations. We want everyone involved, when
we say everyone we mean EVERYONE. We need thoughts, feelings, suggestions,
and if you want to shoot the shit we are down for that also. This page
will allow us to get and keep in contact with everyone. It'll provide
contact information such as Facebook, chatroom, Skype addresses and we'll
go so far as texting numbers. Every good idea suggested will be considered
and represented. If you provide us with the government name, nickname,
city state, fraternity, sorority, school, we will definitely represent
you. We are humans with flaws, but weaning everyone away from this drug we
call our culture to actually enjoy the world around us is the goal.
